Spring Break in New York City
Going to New York was a very old dream of mine. I bought the National Geographic City Guide two years before even going to Seattle, that’s how bad it’s gotten. Studying in Seattle was therefore the right occasion to bite into the Big Apple. Thanks to my uncle and his lovely wife, I was able to stay a full week in New York and enjoy great sightseeing and delicacies from all around the world.
During my stay, my uncle took me to New Jersey to have a look at Manhattan from the other side of the Hudson River. The views were simply breathtaking!
We then got lunch at a NJ diner, and unfortunately, it was a Pepsi® diner.
The waitress was trying really to accommodate my Coke® need by proposing me other drinks, and I finally settled on root beer, as I’d never tried that before. I should have thought about it twice before ordering. The taste was simply horrendous, as if Pepsi was mixed with toothpaste or something. And I couldn’t even rinse my mouth with a proper drink.
There were so many things to do in New York that made my experience of the city amazing. I went to a taping of the Wendy Williams Show and bought almost everything that was in the Wendy store, while being called the Brown Justin Bieber by Wendy Williams.
On another note, I don’t know what mighty power it took, but I also got on top the Empire State Building—even though I was terrified on the viewing deck of the Space Needle.
Overall, this trip was amazing! I met some great people there and had a great time. The only sad thing about New York is that when you come back home it makes you crave for more… Exercise, because I gotta get rid of these 5 pounds I gained somehow.
